About her:
Sandra (Sisler) Guritza has taught general music/chorus at Jefferson-Morgan Elementary School for 12 years. She received her Bachelor’s of Music Education degree from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music (Shenandoah University) in Winchestor, VA in 1983. She studied Dalcroze classes at Carnegie Mellon and received the Level I certificate and Orff Levels I,II,III at West Chester University.

Mrs. Guritza is originally from Friendsville, Maryland (Garrett County) and taught Jr/Sr High Band for 3 years in Preston County, WV. She was a substitute teacher in the Carmichaels and Southeastern Greene School Districts before coming to Jefferson-Morgan Elementary. She is an active member of PGTAOSA (Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Orff Association), teaches private piano lessons and is the organist at St. Ignatius in Bobtown. She is married to Mike and has 2 children.

Fun Fact: Mrs. Guritza loves sports especially basketball and softball. She will challenge any of her students to Tinikling, which is a dance from the Phillipines where you jump between two bamboo poles which are struck together in time to the music.
